New Song: “Bloody Summer of ’63” – That Was Summer of Real Change That We’re Still Experiencing

The core, and founding, racial hatred was challenged for the first time.  Mainly, by peaceful men, mothers and school children.

The power holders in southern society were brutally violent – the opposition was not.  Guess who won?…Lots of bravery and lots of viciousness, esp from most politicians… who were cowed to encourage and support the hatred and violence…of course…hatred works, short-term, but is also suicidal…

Love songs are fine but protest songs are better and harder…if songs and song-writers don’t move beyond our own petty emotions about relationships it’s dum…there is “me”….”me” and “you”…. and then “we”….the social “we” is much kooler….
